Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen (R-Alexandria) released the following statement in response to Governor Tim Walz loosening of his restrictions on businesses implemented on November 21:
“I am happy to see Governor Walz’s decided today to ease restrictions on businesses. While overdue, this is an important step on a path that will open Minnesota back up. Unfortunately, Governor Walz continues to act as if one size fits all, and his policies have hurt Greater Minnesota more than they ever should have. Governor Walz must acknowledge that while he believes in “One Minnesota,” our state is a combination of unique and wonderful communities, with different school sizes, varying businesses, and populations who have all been impacted by the virus differently. I hope that Governor sees this and acknowledges that Minnesotans deserve to have their elected voices heard in this process. Together, if the Governor does lift his emergency powers, we can work collectively to find solutions that serve all our communities and help Minnesota move forward as a state.”
