Senator Bruce Anderson: Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Friends and neighbors,

As Christmas approaches, I am grateful for the time with my loved ones as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!

No matter how you choose to celebrate this season, I hope you and your family and friends enjoy your time together. I also encourage you to find a way to make someone in your community feel a little extra loved and cared for this holiday.

It is my greatest privilege to serve as your state senator and represent our community at the Capitol. I will continue to fight for you!

Wishing you and your family a beautiful celebration of Christ’s birth and a Happy New Year!

$24 Million for Minnesota EMS Providers

As we close out the year, I am pleased to share some positive news regarding our emergency medical services (EMS) providers.

On Thursday, Dec. 26, $24 million in one-time EMS Service Aid will be distributed to support EMS providers who primarily serve Greater Minnesota communities. In our area, the following providers will receive a total of $237,528.83 for operational and capital expenses:

  • $70,838.54 for Howard Lake Ambulance Service
  • $87,107.49 for Maple Lake Fire Department
  • $79,582.80 for CentraCare Health EMS (Monticello-Big Lake)

The Department of Revenue (DOR) and the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board have verified the application data and certified the aid amounts, and the DOR will make full payments to each certified licensed ambulance service provider on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024.

This funding is part of a larger $30 million package approved during the 2024 legislative session, which was championed by Senate Republicans. The package is based on the findings of a bipartisan EMS Task Force, which investigated ways to enhance the life-saving services provided by EMS personnel.

While there is always more work to be done to support our EMS providers, this funding represents a crucial step in ensuring that all Minnesotans continue to have reliable access to these vital services!

Sincerely,

Bruce
