This time of year is special for so many reasons. Holiday cheer fills hearts and homes, and the spirit of giving unites people and nations. For millions of people all across the world this is a season of hope and miracles.
For my wife and me, this time of year brings us great joy because our children and grandchildren gather together to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Our home is filled with scents of the season, laughter, and great love for one another. It’s a time where we recount our blessings, catch up on the details of each other’s lives, and create new memories and traditions to last a lifetime.
One of our favorite traditions is the reading of the Christmas story in Luke, “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Little did Mary and Joseph know how their faith would bring forth the Seed that would forever impact people and nations, including this great nation.
May your season be bright whether this time of year means you celebrate the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, the birth of the Savior of the world, Santa slipping down your chimney, or something else. Enjoy every moment with family and friends, for these are the good old days.
As your Senator, I am committed to ensuring America is a home for every citizen; whether they subscribe to a faith tradition or not. I’m here to help protect the First Amendment Rights of all. Citizens don’t have to subscribe to a faith tradition to live here, but a foundational concept that needs to be protected is the honoring of our nation’s history and religious heritage, as well as the First Amendment Rights of our fellow Americans.
Seasons Greetings! From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and the best New Years yet.
Sincerely,
Senator Dan Hall
