Grand Rapids, MN – On Tuesday, Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) released its November 2022 Forecast projecting a massive $17.6 billion dollar surplus. Senator Justin Eichorn (R-Grand Rapids) released the following statement:
“This budget surplus is a result of years of over-taxation,” Eichorn said. “We the people need to get our money back. Democrats are working to spend our money on metro-oriented pet projects that will massively grow government and do very little to help hard-working families. Democrats are even talking about raising taxes next session. My Republican colleagues and I want to eliminate the Social Security tax, cut tax rates, and provide permanent tax relief for every hard-working Minnesotan. We know Minnesotans know how to spend their money better than bloated government.”
