Senator Gazelka Responds to Record-Setting Surplus

On Tuesday, Minnesota Management and Budget released the November budget forecast showing a record-setting $7.7 billion projected surplus for the 2022-2023 biennium. Senator Paul Gazelka (R-East Gull Lake) issued the following statement regarding the forecast report.

“With this record-setting surplus, what becomes immediately apparent is that Minnesotans deserve a significant tax cut.  Despite this bright financial picture for the state, we know the economic situation is not as rosy for Minnesota families and businesses. As we approach the next session, our number one priority should be creating opportunities for Minnesotans to thrive. This means targeted tax relief and economic initiatives that get our economy back on track, improve living standards, and help make Minnesota a better place to live, work, and play.”
