One of the state’s major small business groups, the National Federation of Independent Business Minnesota (NFIB), with close to 10,000 members, has announced that Senator Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) was awarded the NFIB Guardian of Small Business award. For the 10th straight year, Senator Miller received the award for his relentless work encouraging job creation, economic development, and workforce training opportunities for people in southeastern Minnesota and all across the state.
“There are over 500,000 small businesses in Minnesota, each of which is crucial to the strength of our economy and the success of our state,” said Senator Miller. “I’m proud to support initiatives that promote job growth, workforce development, and economic prosperity for folks in southeastern Minnesota and throughout the state. I am grateful for this recognition, and will continue to work toward solutions that will make it easier for businesses to thrive in Minnesota.”
“Senator Miller is a real friend of small business, and we are happy to announce that he has earned the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award,” said Mike Hickey, NFIB Minnesota state director.
NFIB gives out its Guardian of Small Business award at both the federal and state level to recognize lawmakers who have been supportive of small businesses on critical issues. Miller’s award was based on votes he took during the 2019-2020 sessions of the Minnesota Legislature.
NFIB is the voice of small business, advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 state capitals. NFIB is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and member-driven. Since the group’s founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses, and remains so today.
