On Tuesday, Jan. 3, Senator Julia Coleman (R-Waconia) was sworn in for her second term in the Minnesota State Senate.
“I am honored to be entrusted as the voice of our community in the Minnesota Legislature,” Coleman said. “With a massive $17.6 billion surplus, I am dedicated to putting this money back in the pockets of hardworking families. Minnesotans, not the government, truly know how to best meet their unique spending needs.”
During the 2023-2024 legislative session, Coleman will serve as the Republican lead of the Senate Education Policy Committee and as a member of the Senate Transportation Committee.
“It is a privilege to be named the Republican lead of the Senate’s Education Policy Committee,” Coleman said. “Ensuring all Minnesota students receive a high-quality education has long been my priority, and I am excited to continue my work on this fundamental issue. Last year, my Senate Republicans colleagues and I made literacy and special education our focus. And this session, as we craft our state’s next two-year budget, we must guarantee our funding will advance the core function of public education: the ability to read.”
In addition to serving on these committees, Coleman will serve on the Senate Republicans’ leadership team.
