Senator Warren Limmer (R-Maple Grove) released the following statement on the death of Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell, a resident of Maple Grove:

“I am deeply grieved by the loss of Police Officer Jamal Mitchell. Currently, our law enforcement partners are facing significant challenges as violent crimes continues to strike our Metro area.  His death was made even more senseless as he was ambushed trying to help someone who was injured.  Despite constant criticism, law enforcement will always have my support.”

“Sadly, the tragedy in Minneapolis has struck home in Maple Grove. I’m told that Officer Jamal Mitchell was a resident of our community and was already a decorated Police Officer. Please join me in offering your condolences, prayers, and comfort to Officer Mitchell’s loved ones as they endure this terrible loss.”
