(ST. PAUL, MN) Senator Mark Koran (R-North Branch) released the following statement in response to Washington, D.C. protests breaking into the United States Capitol:
“The behavior witnessed in Washington, D.C. yesterday should never be encouraged or allowed. As a nation of laws, we have appropriate measures to express one’s displeasure with governance. Whether it be the outcome of an election or a disagreement on policing in the United States, the correct procedure is to voice your opinion through voting, legislative reform, and our courts. The answer will never be physical violence or destruction like what unfolded in Minneapolis and around our state capitol this past summer. I hope that these events will serve as a learning lesson for our young representative republic and that nation can emerge more united as we begin to move forward. “
