Minnesota Senate Republicans announced today that Senator Mary Kiffmeyer would chair the Senate’s State Government Finance and Policy and Elections Committee again in 2019 and 2020. Senator Kiffmeyer previously served as chair of the committee during the 2017-2018 session.
“I am once again honored to be selected as chair of the Senate’s State Government Finance and Policy and Elections Committee,” said Senator Mary Kiffmeyer. “Chairing this committee over the past two years has taken a great amount of responsibility as our executive branch has ballooned and we’ve seen administrative failures across multiple departments. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Governor-elect Tim Walz and his new administration in hopes that we can secure real and meaningful reform across our bureaucracy. In addition to reforming departments such as MN.IT, I hope that Governor Walz and my DFL colleagues in the House will join me in making Cybersecurity a priority so that we can provide Minnesota residents with a sense of security that our state’s information is secure.”
Senate Republicans also announced a full slate of committee chairs for the upcoming biennium including a newly formed committee all of which can be found here.
