State Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Walz easing Covid restrictions today.

“It appears as though Gov. Walz is finally beginning to truly listen to the science and acting accordingly. Easing these restrictions is the right decision, and I hope the governor will look for opportunities to go even further to help small businesses and employees in the very near future. For example, the governor should encourage the House to pass the Senate’s bipartisan PPP and unemployment insurance relief bill as soon as possible, and he should immediately sign it. These folks are still hurting, and we can give them some badly-needed relief.”
