The Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) has named State Senator David Osmek (R-Mound) as their 2019 Public Official of the Year. The non-profit organization, which has been active in utilities and energy issues in the state recognized Senator Osmek for his outstanding work this session on behalf of Minnesota’s many municipally-owned utilities.
“I am honored to receive this award from MMUA,” said Senator Osmek, Chair of the Senate’s Energy and Utilities Finance & Policy Committee. “I am proud of our accomplishments this session and the work we did to protect ratepayers and Minnesota utility users. In the future, I will continue to advocate for sensible and efficient energy policies that help Minnesota residents and municipally-owned utilities across our state.”
“Senator David Osmek has well-earned MMUA’s Public Service Award for his efforts to help push CIP reform while guarding against troubling new mandates,” MMUA President Greg French said, in presenting the award at their annual conference in August. “MMUA looks forward to working with the Senator in 2020 and hopefully beyond.”
