Minnesota State Senator Roger Chamberlain (R-Lino Lakes) was named the 2018 Legislator of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (MASWCD) at the organization’s annual meeting and trade show in Bloomington December 9-11. Sen. Chamberlain received the honor for his outstanding accomplishments in supporting natural resources conservation, and the work of and funding for SWCDs.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for local soil and water boards,” said Sen. Chamberlain. “They have an important and challenging mission, and aligning the goals of their local members with governors’ administrations and state legislators is not always easy. I thank MASWCD for this honor, and look forward to continuing our strong partnership.”

“Senator Chamberlain has been given the legislator of the year award by the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts for his long standing support of the work done by all of Minnesota’s local soil and water conservation districts and his leadership and recognition of the future resource needs for SWCDs,” said Sheila Vanney, assistant director of the Minnesota Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts.
