On Monday, Sept. 23, the U.S. Department of Education announced the 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools. This year, 356 schools nationwide received this prestigious recognition, which “highlights schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups.”
In Minnesota, seven schools are named 2024 Blue Ribbon Schools, including James Knoll Elementary in Ortonville. State Senator Torrey Westrom (R-Alexandria) released the following statement congratulating James Knoll Elementary:
Congratulations to the James Knoll Elementary teachers, students, support staff, administration and all the helpers in the community for receiving national recognition as a shining example of academic excellence! This prestigious Blue Ribbon award shows the commitment to creating a vibrant and supportive learning environment.
It highlights not only the school’s achievements but also the strong teamwork and spirit within the school and community. Together, they have proven that with determination, hard work and a ‘can do’ attitude, great things can happen for every student.
