Friends and neighbors,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. I made this past video talking about why Christmas means so much to me, and it’s apropos to right now. Even though Covid has interrupted plans for many families, it should not let us lose sight of the Reason for the Season: the birth of Jesus Christ. I hope you were still able to at least connect with your loved ones and safely engage in some of your normal traditions this year. However you celebrated, I wish you nothing but great Blessings and a wonderful Christmas Holiday season.
For obvious reasons, I think we are all ready to leave 2020 in our rearview mirrors. Here’s to wishing everyone a blessed and Happy New Year!
Given the prospects of new therapies and treatments, as well as President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed program that has developed vaccines in record time, I am incredibly optimistic that Covid-19 will soon become a distant memory.
Covid-19 made for a difficult year, but we shouldn’t lose sight of the positives in our lives: We are grateful for our family and friends. We are fortunate that indoor plumbing, clean water, and electricity are virtually universal — that was not so just a hundred years ago. We are blessed to live in a country where every day we enjoy liberties and freedoms that citizens of many other nations are risking their lives for. In spite of the challenges we face, we are more fortunate than most of the world.
Let’s all do what we can to help encourage others with small acts of kindness this coming year and with God’s blessings and an optimistic determination to look at the “glass half full,” instead of half-empty, 2021 can bring many good things!
Stay safe, stay healthy, and I will talk to you again in January!
Sincerely,
