Senator Carrie Ruud (R-Breezy Point) has once again been appointed to the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board. The IRRRB consists of nine elected Senators and Representatives, of which Senator Ruud has been a member since 2017.
The Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board covers over thirty thousand constituents in SD-10. An economic development agency focused on business, community, and workforce development, the IRRRB encompasses 13,000 square miles in northeastern and central Minnesota, 53 cities, and 134 townships. The Department’s mission is to invest resources to foster vibrant growth and economic prosperity in northeastern Minnesota.
The Board’s role is to review and oversee expenditures made by the commissioner and recommend approval or disapproval or modification of the expenditures and projects. Through the process of review, The Department reinvests local taconite production taxes back into northeastern Minnesota businesses and communities to strengthen and diversify the economy.
“I look forward to continuing my role in representing Senate District 10 on the IRRRB,” said Senator Ruud.”
