The Minnesota Department of Commerce announced yesterday that MNsure rates for 2020 are going down or remaining flat. Senator Michelle Benson (R-Ham Lake), chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Finance and Policy Committee, released the following statement:
“It wasn’t all that long ago that MNsure had the individual health insurance market in a complete tailspin. Republican policies, especially our reinsurance program, are the only thing that saved it, and we are continuing to reap the benefits. Rates are once again staying flat or falling. Every county will have at least two options. And there will be almost 40 new plans available next year. It’s a remarkable reversal from what we experienced as recently as 2016. Republicans will continue to be leaders in delivering affordable, accessible insurance choices for Minnesota families.”
