Senator Gary Dahms, Chair of the Senate Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee, released the following statement regarding the announcement this morning from the Minnesota Department of Commerce on MNsure rates for 2020:

“Today’s announcement is good news for Minnesotans who purchase their health insurance on the individual market,” said Senator Gary Dahms (R-Redwood Falls). “In addition to another year of rate decreases, every county in Minnesota will now have at least two insurers offering individual coverage. Costs continue to go down as the market continues to stabilize because of the Republican-led effort to extend the successful reinsurance program. I expect Minnesota will continue to lead the way in affordable, accessible health coverage.”
