This morning, Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka issued the following statement regarding the announcement of the preliminary rates for health insurance sold on the individual market in 2018:
“A year ago, Commissioner Rothman said the individual health insurance market was on the brink of collapse. After years of double-digit premium increases, Minnesotans trusted Republicans to take on health care, and in one year we stabilized the market. Many people will even see their rates decrease in 2018.
This is welcome news, but we still have a long way to go. Republicans at the state legislature continue to work hard to reverse the Obamacare death spiral and make health care more affordable and accessible to Minnesotans.”
