In response to MN.IT’s demand for $20 million in new funding for cybersecurity. Senator Mary Kiffmeyer (R- Big Lake) issued the following statement:
“This focus on cybersecurity is a welcome change in direction from a state agency that has been severely mismanaged, most notably with the failed MNLARS DMV debacle. Senate Republicans passed $14.6 million in new funding for cybersecurity last year, but in final negotiations, Gov. Dayton demanded the money be spent on bureaucrats’ salaries instead. Thankfully, the Legislature will have an opportunity to develop a new state budget with a new governor next year.”
